Lago Scrubs Review - by Trusted Health

The Trusted Team

At Trusted, we love to share reviews you can use as a Travel Nurse and what do you use more often than scrubs? You can always read about the scrubs we’ve reviewed in the past (Jaanuu, FIGS, Cherokee, Moxie Scrubs, and Uniform Advantage), but today, we are giving you all the deets on Lago Scrubs, a new scrub brand on the scene.

The scrubs are designed by former Nike designers in Portland and are buttery soft (yes, that soft!) Plus, Mother Earth will thank you for wearing them, as this brand is sustainable with each scrub made from recycled water bottles. The best part? You can enjoy comfy, premium quality scrubs at a fraction of the cost of other competitors.

We asked some of our most-trusted nurses to try out a fresh set of Lago Scrubs for us so that we could help you find your next favorite set of scrubs. Below, you’ll find four reviews covering the same facets of fit, each from a real Trusted nurse.

Lago Scrubs Product Review

Scrub Feel: 5/5

Outside of the hospital, I pretty much live in athleisure. There’s just something about the soft, but stretchy material that is just so comfortable. It doesn’t make sense how the material is made from plastic bottles because the material is thick, but they are just so buttery soft and breathable. That being said, the recycled material that Lago uses is the same one Patagonia uses, so that in itself speaks for the quality of these scrubs.

Scrub Fit: 5/5

I struggle to find scrubs that fit my waist and allow my thighs to breathe without having to worry about wedgies every half hour or so, but Lago might just be the brand for me! I always expect to exchange items at least once when trying out new brands, but the size guide was very on point. The joggers are just loose enough without being baggy, but also form-fitting and very flattering. My scrub top has a beautiful V-neck that is not too revealing.

Scrub Wear: 5/5

Playing tetris with beds in tiny patient rooms while helping out with the many transfers, crouching down in the equipment room trying to find dressing change materials, squatting to tip my foleys for hourly I&O’s – I felt like I could have done a gymnastics class in these scrubs and still be comfortable. The cherry on top – after one wash, they came out of the dryer wrinkle-free!

Overall Thoughts: 5/5

Sustainable, cute, comfortable and affordable. My first day wearing them, I had at least three coworkers ask me where my scrubs were from, which only validated how much I love them. I’ve been loyal to my Barco One’s for at least five years, but Lago is officially my new go-to for scrubs. I really can’t imagine myself wearing anything else. BRB while I add two more sets to my cart!

Scrub Feel: 5/5

For a recycled fabric I couldn’t tell the difference from other scrub brands I’ve tried, as the fabric didn’t feel like I had scrubs on! They are comfortable and soft, with a thick waistband that supports (and hides lol) and ankle cuffs that stay in place but are unnoticeable. The fabric didn’t feel itchy or uncomfortable.

Scrub Fit: 4/5

As an athletically built taller woman I feel I’m a bit in between a Medium & Large bottom as the large were too loose and the medium was a bit tighter than I typically like in the inseam area for bending/squatting. Being 5’10” the medium joggers pulled atop my ankles rather than at them or below them, so definitely need some cute compression socks with these! The top is a bit tight when getting various hairstyles through the neck but otherwise comfortable when on.

I gave the set a 4/5, even with the above mentioned because the set enhanced my shape in the best ways as well as forgave where I needed.

Scrub Wear: 4.5/5

These scrubs passed all the tests. From bending, lifting, spilling, sweating - they were durable and stretchy. The only thing is I like my sleeves to be a bit more breathable/loose for reaching but I’m sure a larger top may have fixed this. The curve on the top enhanced my figure and made the set look sleek and trendy. The waistband stayed in place while squatting and sitting.

Overall Thoughts: 4/5

For the price-point, inclusion, and sustainability factors alone I’d recommend these scrubs with a 4/5. As I always have to find accurate sizing with scrubs due to my height, the tighter fit wasn’t something I’m hung up on as these could definitely give my typical pairs a run for their (more expensive) money! Overall, I’d recommend this brand as the intention and care for healthcare professionals as well as their internal teams, vision, and values are ones to support.

Scrub Feel: 5/5

Buttery soft and comfortable with a perfect amount of flex in all the right spots. As opposed to the starchy feel of most scrubs, Loga scrubs didn’t create friction and bunching when performing nursing tasks.

Scrub Fit: 5/5

I normally wear a XL top but had to size up to an XXL. My dad bod prefers a boxier scrub top, but the modern athletic sculpting did make my wife compliment the dad calves though!

Scrub Wear: 5/5

Cashmere softness with cotton breathability. Plenty of pockets, each with an above average capacity for all the nurse things.

Overall Thoughts: 5/5

These scrubs have a great fit and feel and are comfortable for the entire 12 hours. The sustainability aspect makes me want to support these over the competition. Pricing is spectacular for the overall feel, durability, and style.

Overall Thoughts: 5/5

Overall, I definitely prefer these over FIGS. They feel more breathable and have more stretch which I definitely need for my legs since I weight lift. I'm a shorter girl so finding joggers that fall above my ankle is hard but I love where these hit me. I'm excited to see how they get softer as I wear and wash them! I also love the pop of orange on the drawstrings against the navy color. Super cute!

Concluding Thoughts

The overall consensus was a strong 4.5 to 5-star rating for these Lago scrubs. The scrubs reportedly fit a wide range of shapes and sizes, and offer a breathable, comfortable fit. The sustainability of the scrubs also offers a green element while being sold at a price point that is lower than many other scrub brands. It seems that our reviewers would definitely recommend grabbing a pair of Lago scrubs to add to your wardrobe!
